Nurturing Minds,
Building Futures
Mission
Logic Mentoring empowers youth and returning citizens to develop the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary to thrive as productive members of society. We provide children ages 10–18 with mentorship, leadership training, and community engagement opportunities that foster resilience, academic achievement, and consistent school attendance. For individuals reentering society after incarceration, Logic offers tailored support in life skills, education, and workforce readiness, ensuring a smoother transition back into their communities. Through partnerships with schools, churches, community centers, and reentry organizations, Logic builds a network of belonging and opportunity that prepares every member to lead, advocate, and serve.
Vision
We envision a world where every young person and returning citizen has the tools, guidance, and community support to break cycles of disadvantage and create a life of purpose. Logic seeks to be a national model for youth development and reentry success by blending mentorship, education, and social-emotional learning with real-world opportunities. Whether in classrooms, community spaces, or online platforms, Logic strives to nurture leaders who uplift their peers, strengthen their families, and transform their communities.
“We have to change the narrative in order to rebuild society.”

Philosophy of Logic Mentoring
The philosophy behind the Logic curriculum is to empower both youth and returning citizens to critically examine their identity, choices, and goals while breaking free from the limiting messages often imposed by society and the media. Logic Mentoring provides a structured path for participants to reclaim their narratives, build confidence, and strengthen the social-emotional skills necessary to succeed in school, work, and community life.
At the heart of this philosophy is Sankofa, an African principle from the Akan people of Ghana meaning, “it is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.” Represented by a bird walking forward while looking back, Sankofa symbolizes the wisdom of learning from the past to build a stronger future. Logic applies this principle across its mentoring model: for young people, by guiding them to embrace cultural heritage and personal resilience as they prepare for adulthood; and for returning citizens, by transforming past experiences—including mistakes and hardships—into lessons that inform their reintegration, renewal, and leadership.
For funders and community partners, this philosophy serves as a guiding principle that aligns with measurable impact. By combining youth development with reentry support, Logic addresses the root causes of cycles that often perpetuate poverty, incarceration, and disengagement from school or work. The program fosters academic achievement, reduces negative outcomes such as recidivism and suspensions, and equips members to become role models and contributors within their families and communities. In this way, Logic is more than a mentoring program—it is a catalyst for social change that strengthens entire communities through reflection, resilience, and forward progress.
